How does the Days Between Dates Calculator work?
Calculating the duration between two calendar dates involves determining the difference in time and converting it from milliseconds to days. Our tool uses the standard Gregorian calendar to ensure accuracy, automatically handling:
- Months with 30 vs 31 days.
- February's 28 days.
- Leap years (February 29th).
Common Uses
Vacation Planning: Find out exactly how many days are left until your next trip.
Project Deadlines: Calculate the working window you have to complete a task.
Personal Milestones: Track days since a special event like an anniversary or days until a wedding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this include leap years?
Yes. The calculator uses precise calendar logic, so if the time period overlaps a leap day (Feb 29), it is counted correctly as a day.
Is the end date included?
By default, the standard calculation is "exclusive" of the end date (Start to End). However, we provide a checkbox option to "Include end date," which adds 1 day to the final count, making it "inclusive".
